The full-mouth dental implant treatment, commonly referred to as the All-on-4 or Teeth-in-a-Day procedure, is an option for patients who need numerous teeth replaced, or even a whole upper or lower set of teeth. Overview of full-mouth dental implants

Full-mouth dental implants replace the upper and/or lower set of teeth
The full-mouth dental implant procedure creates a permanent prosthesis by using 4-6 dental implants, which act as an anchor for a bridge or overdenture of typically  12 to 14 teeth. Dental implants can replace damaged and missing teeth and provide a long-term, permanent alternative to dentures.
You can enjoy a new set of teeth in as little as one day
In a more advanced technique, sometimes called the All-on-4 or Teeth-in-a-Day procedure, the doctor surgically places 4-6 screws with abutment posts into the jawbone. Your new teeth are then secured to the abutment posts with special prosthetic screws. This procedure typically can be completed in one day and can be done under local anesthesia. The doctor will have transitional teeth created before the procedure so you can walk out that day with your teeth.

After a healing period for the implants to fully integrated with the bone – the timing varies by individual – you will return to the office to receive a second, permanent set of high-precision custom-made teeth that have been individualized just for you.
The benefits of full-mouth implants compared to dentures are numerous
For years, dentures were the primary solution for replacing missing teeth. Dentures are considered cost-effective.

However, full-mouth dental implants are considered by most to be the best option available for tooth replacement. In fact, due to their superior value and lifespan, they may even save you money over dentures in the long run.

The following provides a brief list of the benefits of full-mouth dental implants compared to dentures:
  • Quick results: You’ll have your new teeth in as little as a day.
  • Maintain youthful appearance: The dental implant process helps preserve the jawbone and decrease wrinkles caused by missing teeth.
  • Enjoy your favorite foods again: Fresh vegetables, corn, fruits, and even steak are back on the menu.
  • Long-lasting smile: Dental implants are definitive, but can last a lifetime.
  • Live longer: Studies have shown that people who are happier and more social live longer.
